Mostly Used For: Potent anxiolytic. Useful in the management of sleep disorders, nervousness, depression and irritability. Bergamot is calming and uplifting. Digestive issues caused by anxiety. PMS, hormonal mood changes. Calming to the mind when anxious and struggling with thoughts. Balances the nervous system and helps with focus and memory.

Precautions: High phototoxicity potential. Avoid sunlight 24 hours after application of Bergamot essential oil to the skin. A Bergaptene-free version of Bergamot essential oil may be preferred if sun exposure cannot be avoided. Store in a cool dry place away from heat and sunlight to avoid oxidisation. Oxidised essential oils are sensitising to the skin.
