Mostly Used For: The sole component of Wintergreen essential oil, methyl salicylate, is chemically close to aspirin. It exhibits very similar properties, indications and precautions. Wintergreen essential oil is a potent analgesic and is widely used in the management of muscle and joint pains. It is frequently used in sports massage and recovery preparations and helps treat muscular tension, tendonitis, cramps, tennis elbow, as well as headache.

Precautions: It is not recommended to use Wintergreen essential oil orally. Prevents blood clotting and can interact with medication. Should not be used by individuals with blood clotting disorders or before a major surgery. Should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Increases the risk of Reye's Syndrome in young children. Children should not use Wintergreen essential oil. Do not apply on wounded or damaged skin.
